She's on Fire - Aerosmith |
Celiné began her life as a
nameless infant on a ship bound from the Ivory Coast
to the New World in the latter half of the eighteenth
century. Her mother died giving birth to her, she
was raised by fellow slaves, and named by the mistress
of the New Orleans estate she was sold into.
On reaching the age of sixteen, she was sold as a
handmaid to the mistress of a large plantation house
just outside the limits of the newly founded city
of Havre. There, she worked hard tending to her principle,
caught the eye of the ageing master of the plantation,
and also that of a respected Obayifo that gifted her
with immortality not six months after she was given
her freedom in her elderly lover's will.
For the next hundred and fifty years, Celiné
watched, nurtured and exploited generation after generation
of the family that she had once served, her closest
relationship forming in the 1880's with the fiercely
intelligent Sebastian Fountaine, who later went on
to join the ranks of the Ghuls in her pursuit of power
and immortality. This no doubt helped years later
when the Ghul's allied themselves with the city's
Court of Night in the face of a far greater threat.
Finally, in the last half of the twentieth century,
the Fountaine family died out and Celiné bought
the crumbling estate out from under them. With this
move, she made herself the most influential Vampire
left in the city, and quickly took up her place at
the head of the Court of Night alongside the Revenant
Angharad, with whom she shares a close relationship,
and many have come to believe that it is because of
this close working acquaintance that Celiné
found it so easy to rise to the position of Queen.
On the rare occasions that she
leaves the estate, Celiné dresses in simple,
elegant and understated dresses, however, away from
the eyes of the world, she favours corseted, Georgian
dresses in the deepest red, blue and great silk, velvet
and taffeta. She stands around 5ft 6" with skin
the colour of polished mahogany, black hair cropped
painfully close to her scalp, and wide, expressive
eyes that flicker like peacock ore. She exudes an
air of authority tinged with sensuality, and smells
faintly of a mixture of magnolia and sandalwood.
