Inanna - Tea Party |
A sometime visitor of Eurterpe’s Café
is a woman that goes by many names. Among them; Inanna,
Elbereth, Artemis, Arianrhod, Diana and Ishtar. Inanna
has also become to be known as The Muse of Euterpe’s
because of her ability to turn up at the café
and drift through the artists there like a beautiful
ghost, bringing enlightenment and inspiration in her
wake. Many of the patrons of Euterpe’s have
fallen for her dreamy beauty and delicate manners
and have written poems, sculpted, painted and sung
in her honour, but despite all of this, no one actually
seems to know who she is, where she comes from, or
where she goes when she’s not drifting about
Euterpe’s in a daydream-like state.
Still, no matter who she is, she seems to bring with
her an exotic, magical feeling that touches everyone
she meets. Perhaps it’s because of this that
no one ever seems to ask her too many questions. When
Inanna is in residence at Euterpe’s, there’s
a define change in the mood there, the place becomes
a swirling canvas of light and colour and music tempered
by the smoky incense of jasmine and sandalwood that
clings to her as she speaks, and smiles, and slips
through the crowd at the café.
Inanna is undoubtedly hypnotic
in appearance. It’s not that she is overwhelmingly
beautiful, or overly captivating in what she says
or does, it’s just that there’s something
about her. Something that you can’t quite place.
Whenever she turns up at the café, she’s
always beautifully dressed in long, flowing, medieval-style
dresses woven in cream and gold and ivory or embroidered
Turkish robes. Her autumnal-red hair reaches her shoulders
and is decorated with a beautiful circlet of gold
and pearls woven into a crescent moon and simple stars
that sparkle almost unusually brightly in the light.
