God Don't Make Lonely Girls - The Wallflowers |
Very little is known about the woman
calling herself Mademoiselle Chánce that frequents
the bars and casinos along the riverbanks of New London.
She speaks very little, if at all, about herself,
who she is, where she came from and what she's doing
in New London, and it's even thought that the name
she goes by was given to her by the men that gamble
their lives away on the Iron Mountain because they
consider her to bring good luck with her.
What is known is that every night without fail she
walks between the card tables and roulette wheels
on the Mountain and in the other gambling dens across
the city, smiling, talking to the people, and blowing
on their dice 'for luck'. She never gambles herself,
and what her real name is, along with her reason for
wandering the casinos at night, remains a mystery.
Mademoiselle Chánce stands
around 5ft 8" in heels, with skin that holds
just a breath of amber-olive, and darkest brown hair
that reaches the small of her back when worn lose.
She has black, almond-shaped eyes and is always dressed
in the height of designer fashion, although where
she gets the money to fund such expensive habits,
like so much else about her, is unknown.
